Shipping Marble, Granite and Ceramic Tiles from Egypt to the West Bank

Shipping building materials from Egypt to the West Bank requires advance coordination between the exporter, importer and logistics parties, as well as a review of cargo requirements, crossing procedures and approvals available at the time of shipment. ALRKEBA Trading Firm coordinates shipping options according to the product, quantity, destination and agreed service scope.

Depending on the cargo and current procedures, road and sea freight options may be available.

1. Road freight via Al-Awja and Nitzana

Marble, granite and ceramic tiles can be transported from Egyptian production areas, including Shak El-Thaaban in Cairo and Arab Abu Saed in Giza, by suitable trucks to Al-Awja Crossing on the Egyptian side, opposite Nitzana Crossing on the Israeli side.

Export procedures and required permits or approvals are coordinated according to the cargo and current requirements. Upon arrival at Nitzana, the goods are unloaded. The buyer or the buyer’s agent then arranges onward transportation to the West Bank warehouse or delivery location.

For some shipments, open flatbed trailers carrying wooden pallets may be used instead of containers. A truck may carry around 24 pallets and approximately 45–50 tonnes, depending on the cargo, its weight, loading arrangement, and applicable road and crossing restrictions. The final permitted weight must be confirmed for each shipment.

2. Sea freight to Ashdod Port

Some cargo may be shipped from Egyptian ports such as Alexandria, Damietta or Port Said to Ashdod Port. After arrival, the buyer or the buyer’s agent handles container collection, completes the relevant procedures and arranges onward transportation to the West Bank warehouse or delivery location.

Availability depends on the cargo, shipping line, schedule and procedures in effect when the shipment is booked.
